Cake Pops Step-By-Step

Today I want to share with you a cake pop step-by-step. A lot of people have asked how to do cake pops and I thought I could contribute with a tutorial based on my experience.
So between bracelets and everyday cooking I made some cake pops a while ago. Here is the complete method. True & tried!
Get all your ingredients and let's start!

Ingredients:

A box of cake mix (prepare it as you normally would) or your favorite cake recipe.
A can of frosting (your preferred flavor).
Color candy coating.

The how-to:

1. Once you have your cake cooled, crumble it. With your hands preferably.
2. Add half a can of frosting to all your crumbled cake.
3. Mix well. If you use your hands, the end result will be better (well, maybe not, but it makes it fun).
4. You know it's ready when you can make a ball that holds its shape.
5. Take it to the freezer for like an hour and then make small balls. Take those to the freezer too.
6. Dip the sticks in some melted candy coating and insert them in the cake balls.
7. Plunge your cake balls in melted candy coating. Don't let them touch the bottom of your container. If you need to cover them with a spoon.
8. Tap your hand (the one with the cake pop) to remove excess of coating.
9. Put them in some styrofoam and let them sit. You can return the to the freezer if you're not going to use the right away.
10. Decorate as you wish.
Finally, ENJOY!!

I hope you've found this step by step helpful!

Birthday Bash!

I'm very excited because last wednesday (March 30th) was MY BIRTHDAY and I threw a party with my closest friends on saturday, I was very excited because of the menu, and of course because hanging with them is just AWESOME! I got the chance to see a friend that I was missing a lot and haven't seen like in a year (that's a lot for me).
So, the party was great, full of laughter, some screaming (because of the pictionary round), well everything that makes a party between gals PERFECT! We are very noisy, but we have lots of FUN.
In the pictionary game we had to draw from Pamela Anderson to an ATM, and everything was just so fun that I ended up with tears because I was laughing so hard!
My first cake pops
Another reason for my excitement was because of the menu I prepared for this day, it was the first time I prepared cake pops, so I was hoping they were good so I could keep on with the cake pop making.
Well, the menu for this special day was:
  • Spaghetti all arrabbiata
  • Pizza (pepperoni, ham&sausage and, pepperoni&sausage)
  • Cake pops

Espresso Pound Cake with Cranberries

Yesterday, I decided to bake something, apart from the CQ, I wanted something that could combine with a glass of cold milk and also that could enhance the flavor of coffee... so I came across this recipe.
Let me tell you it was a huge success here at home, it lasted just one day, well actually 12 hours!
I used a mold that was donut-shaped, but as a result i came with a smaller pound cake, well it was not so tall because the recipe doesn't rise a lot.You can see in the pictures.
But here is the original recipe, I made some changes and the result was ---------->
so feel free to change everything you like! :D

This recipe comes from Bon appètit, March 2011.

Chocolate Mug Cake

This morning was very cold, so I decided to try something different for breakfast, something that would be cheap, easy, fast, chocolate-y, and warm...yes, that was a lot to ask for! But I came with a great recipe that took me no more that 7 minutes! It was a chocolate cake made in a mug, a huge one, for which I thank my bf, when he visited Chicago he gave me a huge Reeses mug full with peanut butter cups yum! He had asked me to use it, I wasn't sure about that but today was the perfect day for the mug.
I recommend you to try this recipe :) here you can see how it looks!

It was a huge Reeses mug!
